The Spirit of Giving

When I was in Schenectady, we had early Christmas. I was given non-trivial amounts of cash (that has all turned into yarn and needles), very generous gift certificates, and assorted small trinkets. I was told that these would have to suffice, as I didn't ask for any "things." pile of boxesNow the gifts selected from my Amazon.com wishlist are starting to arrive. Yes, I should be grateful, but I can't help but wonder, "What have you done that I don't know about that makes you think that you need to buy my love?" And I wonder if there is a limit to their generousity; maybe next year I will ask for a helicopter.
