The Too-Long Pants Trend
I was at Starbucks. A college-aged woman walks in, wearing high-heeled shoes and jeans so long that they drag on the ground by a good inch or so. With the rainy weather we're having, the cuffs are wet and muddy.
Her friend arrives. Also wearing heels. Also wearing jeans. This woman's jeans are somewhat shorter. While they would drag on the ground if she were wearing flats, with the shoes she has on the hem is almost an inch above the floor.
First woman looks at her friend's pants and says sarcastically, "I see you were expecting the flood."
Is this a sign that the too-long-pants trend is about to peak? Or should I be expecting to see pants sporting ball-gown-esque trains dragging from their cuffs?
