Bits and Pieces

By some time in the near future I should have the semester under control enough so that I'll be able to write something substantial. Until then I leave you with two observations and a question:
  1. If you have an unnamed child for whom you plan an academic career, you should think carefully about the implications of the first name "Dean."

  2. I have two students who are seniors majoring in "undecided."

  3. Do you know how I can use an iMac to make a CD that contains both music and data in the following way: If you put the CD into a normal CD player (like the one in your car), it should play music like a regular CD. But if you put it into the CD-ROM drive of a computer, you should be able to access the syllabi, worksheets, and other data that I want to share.
