In Which I Outsource Social Decisions to My Blog Readers
Let's say that I've been invited to a birthday party happening Monday evening (billed as cake and ice cream and drinks) for someone who I met in the fall and have spoken to a few times. Someone who knows people that I know. Party is taking place about five blocks from my house.
Furthermore, let's assume that the invitation was executed as a mass email to a large bunch of people with a non-binding request for an RSVP, to establish a headcount. I didn't RSVP because I'm not keen on committing to social engagements in advance; I find it stressful to be expected to be somewhere.
The questions: Do I go (even though I didn't RSVP)? If so, do I bring something? If so, what?
