Local Shopping

On a tip from someone in my knitting group, I went to the five-and-dime on the other side of the river.

This store is part hardware store, part upscale gardening center, and part gift shop. Quite possibly this may be the only store in the southeastern US where you can buy Hello Kitty merchandise, Badger Balm, Archie McPhee items, Smith and Hawken products, assorted fasteners, Romex, and methyl ethyl ketone* all in the same place. (And everything -- I mean everything -- in between.)

Surprisingly, I did not find a tiara. However, as there is a Salvation Army and a Big Lots in the same plaza, I am sure that neighborhood will be the source of much shopping amusement in my future.
