If Apple Didn't Want Me to Open It, Why Is It Held Together with Screws Instead of Something More Intimidating, Like Glue?

In order to replace my serpentine belt,


I needed to find my tools.


I didn't know that I had so many hex keys,


including one that fits in the screws in my iMac's keyboard.


Unfortunately I was unable to follow these instructions and remove the food and hair (it's really nasty) caught in the keyboard, as the distinctive sound of cracking plastic warned me to STOP.
