Probably Not What Grandma Expected

I should have known that it was going to be tricky to make breakfast this morning. Went out last night because of the overwhelming pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen, and the dishwasher hadn't loaded and run itself in the meantime. While breakfast is less cooking-intensive than dinner, I needed both a bowl and a spoon. (Plenty of mugs: this house is a registered mug habitat, and we have one of the world's most successful captive breeding programs.) Bowl could easily have a ramekin substituted for it. Spoon, though? Sure, I could have washed one of the dirty spoons, but does that seem in character for someone who let the dishes get so out of hand?

The obvious solution: Time to start using the good silver!
