Holidays and Birds
Last year on the 4th of July there was the rescue of the two baby chimney swifts whose nest had fallen down into my chimney and who needed to be rescued via the missing bricks in the basement.
This year it was Memorial Day and a mockingbird who fell 30+ feet out of its nest in my backyard. Since my next door neighbor has 3 indoor-outdoor cats, leaving a baby bird just lying in the yard didn't seem wise. And since it didn't have most of its feathers in yet, it was completely helpless.
I'm seriously considering programming the wildlife rehabilitator's number into my cell phone.
