The Grass is Just as Brown

I was talking to someone here about the calculus class he taught last year. Standard freshman calculus. His students are just as inept at algebra as mine are. Couldn't work with fractions. Couldn't solve linear equations. Couldn't do most of the basic high school math that we'd like to take for granted. All the usual stupid stuff.

This was at Princeton.
