Secret Message to the Faculty

The administration says that they are going to enforce the rule about the minimum number of students in order for a course to run.

If you look at the number of students majoring in the department and the number of upper-level courses on the books for the spring, you can already guess that not every course is going to make its minimum enrollment.

If you want your course to run in the spring, it either needs to be required for the major, fulfill some other requirement, or else be attractive to students in some other way.

Getting a bad reputation from your lower division courses and then sitting around your office waiting for students to sign up for your elective, upper-division course is probably not the best way to get a high enough enrollment for your course to make.
