More Reasons to Distrust the Telephone

I am obsessive about putting phone numbers into Address Book on my Mac. If I have ever talked to you on the phone or have had reason to talk to you on the phone, then you are in my address book. There are hundreds of people in my address book. (This is aided by how awesome Mail.app is in Leopard at detecting contact information in email messages and adding it to my address book.) For everyone I know, the CallerID on my phone shows who is calling.

Recently I've been getting calls from an unfamiliar local number. I've been letting them go to voicemail, and the caller hasn't been leaving a message. My theory is that if it's important, you will eventually leave a message.

This morning I got another call from that number, and my curiousity got the best of me. I answered the phone.

It was a former student (why, why, why did someone give out my number?) who is selling stuff.
