Basement Archeology
You remember that cellulose insulation [Someone tells me that it looks more like fiberglass. I know nothing about insulation.] was blown into the attic?

Well, apparently there is an opening next to the old chimney that leads all the way from the attic to the basement. I decided to take some pictures to share with the blog. (Yes, that is dirt. Back in the 1920s there wasn't even the pretense of the finished basement. There also wasn't a building code, so the stairs are extra-funky.)

When reviewing the photographs, I saw something under the stairs that looked like a bottle. It was! It's a D-patent Coke bottle (they were produced from 1938 to 1951). I'm hanging onto it for now instead of tossing it in the recycle bin.
