It's Not Me, It's You

Today in computer science class I graded the midterm for my honors class. (He was talking about graph theory, so it's not like I needed to pay a lot of attention. Plus, with those super-helpful notes on the course web page, you know how it is. Plus, it's not like the midterms would have graded themselves.)

Of 13 students who took the exam there were 11 As, 1 B-, and 1 F. The student with the F earned about half as many points as the student with the B-.

I am willing to bet that the F student will end up crying in my office with a thousand excuses. And yet, if you don't know the material, there's not much I can do.
