A Public Service Message to the American People
- Large corporations do not have your best interests in mind. Just because a bank is willing to lend you money doesn't mean that you should borrow it. Even if they seem very charming.
- Do not buy things that you can not afford.
- Definitely do not make large purchases that you can not afford.
- If you're thinking of buying a house, if you can not put 20% down and have the monthly payment be less than 28% of your gross monthly pay, then you can not afford it.
- No. Seriously. Really.
- And, yes, even if everyone else has houses that they can't afford doesn't mean that you should buy a house (or anything else) that you can't afford. No matter what the banks tell you.
