You're Doing it Wrong: My Kitchen Edition
- Compact flourescents. There is a bank of three lights. Since switching to compact flourescents three years ago, I have probably gone through at least seven lightbulbs. They burn out all the freakin' time. Any energy savings over traditional lightbulbs has been cancelled out by the mercury disposal issues.
- Sugar. Of all the claims one could make about table sugar, I don't think that "carbon-free" really communicates what you want it to.
