You're Doing it Wrong: My Kitchen Edition

  1. Compact flourescents. There is a bank of three lights. Since switching to compact flourescents three years ago, I have probably gone through at least seven lightbulbs. They burn out all the freakin' time. Any energy savings over traditional lightbulbs has been cancelled out by the mercury disposal issues.

  2. Sugar. Of all the claims one could make about table sugar, I don't think that "carbon-free" really communicates what you want it to.
