A Box to Clear out Your Office

You know that scene where someone gets fired and they give him a box to bring home the stuff from his office?

Packing my office took THIRTEEN boxes. (Twelve if you don't count my laser printer.*)

On Friday I learned that they're moving my office on Monday, so I had to pack before Monday. Now when students email me questions about their grades I can defer them to the middle of next week because everything is packed and my office computer is shut down.


*A colleague jealously asked, "How did you get a laser printer for your office?" I said, "It's easy! [pause] I went to Amazon.com, got out my credit card, and four days later it arrived!"
