Recently Heard Medical Excuses

Subtitle: If you're lying, I hope this happens to you.
  1. Parent called. They don't know what the student has, but some of the options are really bad.

  2. Uncontrolled psychiatric symptoms.

  3. Student has a chronic condition and should be taking medication for it. Student doesn't like to take the medication due to previous problems student has had with recreational use of said medication so only takes it sometimes instead of as prescribed. Student's roommates are also stealing student's medication so the prescription runs out before it's time for a refill.

My suggested solutions:
  1. Have the student worry about getting well. We'll sort things out then.

  2. Don't worry about the attendance policy. Go talk to your shrink.

  3. Please tell this to the person who prescribed the medication. Come back and talk to me once you have that sorted out.
