The 1980s Called, and They Want Their Look Back

Now, I probably shouldn't be making comments about other people's fashion choices in the math department. I have no problem with people showing up to teach class wearing shorts and a t-shirt with birkenstocks with socks. I have been known to teach calculus in a black tulle skirt and stripey tights. I have a t-shirt with a glittery pink skull on it, and I wear it to work.

Today I spotted a coworker in a powder blue skirt-suit with white pumps and crimped hair. It was really the entirety of the ensemble that made it so noteworthy. I at least like to pretend that my completely bizarre outfits are at least somewhat ironic. I don't think that was the case here.
