Spending Money On Campus
This morning brings another $75 spent, as I had to pay a fee for one of my spring classes (3 credit hours x $25 per credit hour). My employee tuition waiver doesn't cover this fee.
Personally, I think that the math department needs to get in on the fee gravy train and charge a $5 per credit hour "math fee." My back-of-the envelope calculation is that a $5 per credit hour "math fee" would generate enough money to cover the salaries of a few people who would otherwise be laid off.
