Another Excuse

Stu just emailed me that he didn't do the homework that was due Friday night. The homework whose due date I verbally announced in class, had written on a slide in the slide show (which was shown in class AND is archived on the Blackboard site), emailed the class about on Thursday, and was displayed on the WebAssign assignment itself.

He thought that the date had been changed because of the holiday on Monday.

Why would homework due Friday be changed because Monday is a holiday?

And while I'm at it, why do students keep adding my calculus class? I think this may be the first time ever that I had more students enrolled in spring calculus than I did in fall calculus.
