Predicting the Future in Computer Science

Next week, on Tuesday, we have a quiz in computer science.

One of the formulas that we need to use involves taking the logarithm, base 2, of quantities that are not "nice" numbers. So we might need to find something like log2(0.3) as part of the calculation.

We do get to use calculators.

The TI graping calculator that I have from the math department does logs base 10 and base e.

How many of my classmates do you think either have a very fancy calculator that does log base 2? How many of the rest do you think know the change-of-base formula?
