Paperwork

As the census form is supposed to be an accurate count as of April 1, I wouldn't let The Topologist mail it back yet. Tomorrow it can go out, as then we can be sure that no one else stayed here tonight. As Person 1, I get to make these kinds of decisions.

Unfortunately, there is some other government paperwork that I need to deal with that is not so pleasant.

Anyone want to take bets on whether I'll owe money for income taxes this year? Oh, who am I kidding. I have no recollection of ever having received a tax refund.

I'm in favor of simplifying the tax code so that filing income taxes is as simple as filling out the census. The only thing that keeps me from selling the worthless stocks that I paid real money for back in the mid-1990s is that I have nightmares about determining my cost basis and then keeping track of carry-over capital losses.

Yes, it is true: my primary financial motivator is the minimization of paperwork.
