Regret of the Day
Today I got talked into going to a talk that I didn't really want to go to. I could tell from the abstract that it involved an awful lot of the solving of integral equations and then the approximation techniques necessary for solving them computationally and then the details of the implementation. As someone whose interests are more algebraic and less analytic, this was not an exciting talk.
But since I was strongly encouraged to go at the last minute, I forgot to bring my knitting!
Extra-unfortunate: I think that I need to rip out the entire cuff of the sock that I am knitting. Actually, I am pretty sure that this is the case. I believed the pattern, and that was my mistake. Either there was some sort of horrible editing SNAFU or (and I believe that this is more likely, based on the types of errors in the chart) no one actually bothered to knit the pattern before it was published.
