The Latest in Meeting Culture
I've gotten used to the fact that the standing meeting at 9am on Tuesday mornings can be cancelled at the drop of a hat. It's not uncommon for the email to go out canceling the meeting 90 seconds before it begins. I've gotten used to this. As I have other Tuesday morning meetings, I can live with this.
Today at 12:50pm we got an email that said (paraphrased): The big boss is having an urgent meeting at 1:00pm today in the auditorium. Please plan to be there.
This is somewhat annoying because I am currently in my other office, 35 miles away, because last week my direct supervisor set up a meeting to take place here this afternoon. I can't be the only person who is not around that office today.
Even more annoying: the email has zero information about what the topic of this urgent meeting is. Why the secret emergency meeting?
