Understanding More and More about Dilbert's World

Now I understand why people make negative comments about vendors. At the moment we're dealing with problems with a file system that Immobilized by Big Memory. And we have a bunch of video cards sitting around gathering dust because Sixteen GPGPUs Inoperable and Not Very Interested in Driver Improvement Actions are pointing fingers at each other about why the video cards crash the machine. Compared to this, I can see why people around here tend to have a great deal of loyalty to a company that Cares (Really!) About You.

So yesterday I was talking to someone who works for one of the vendors. And I was reminded of the Soup Nazi bit from Seinfeld. Such is the privilege of a company selling expensive things in recession-proof industries.
