Too Good to Be True
Crazy, I know, but I was supposed to do TWO social things -- with people not in the math department -- in one week.
Monday night I went to the neighborhood potluck. Many of the same people as the Christmas party; I managed to avoid talking to the creepy guy. Aside from a band of very poorly behaved children and a short, awkward conversation with the family that used to own my house, it was OK.
Last night I was supposed to get together with a knitting group. But when I drove by the place, there was no one there, so I turned around and went home. The nice thing about the knitting group is that they are all female, so I'm not given the third degree.
